2.      SCHOLARSHIPS…

Boston University's Scholarship for Parents

Offered since the fall of 2008, the Scholarship for Parents is a 50% tuition discount for parents of Boston & Chelsea public school students  who have completed some college. Awarded by Boston University’s Metropolitan College, the scholarship gives parents the chance to finish a Bachelor’s degree at BU with the convenience of part-time, evening study. To be eligible, parents must:

·             Have a child enrolled in a Boston or Chelsea Public School (children must be enrolled in BPS, CPS, or a public charter school within either Boston or Chelsea city limits—parents of METCO-participating students would not be eligible unless they also currently have children in BPS)

·             Have completed six college courses with a GPA of 3.0 or above

·             Be US citizens or permanent residents.

·             Be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at BU’s Metropolitan College

With the 50% tuition discount, the cost of a four credit course is reduced to $750, and parents can apply for and receive additional financial aid—based on their financial need—through the FAFSA. I’ve attached the Scholarship for Parents flyer as a .pdf file, which details scholarship benefits, eligibility requirements, and available programs of study.

If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I really appreciate your assistance and offer to share this with your network, and I hope people find this information valuable!

Best regards,

Aaron
