DEPUTY DIRECTOR - ET&Y 
Education, Training, and Youth Services

Assist in the management of LearningWorks, Career Explorations, SummerWorks, Ostiguy High School and University High School programs. Coordinate the operations and outcomes of youth development and education and training programs. Interview, recommend and supervise staff responsible for delivering training services. Review the performance of programs and implement changes, as needed, to ensure high quality services and positive customer satisfaction and program outcomes. Conduct research and analyses to identify possible program expansion and funding opportunities. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with local agencies and employment and training organizations. Supervise the reporting to funders and other sources. Perform other related duties as required. 

Extensive experience in human services and education and training required. Must be creative and have entrepreneurial talents, along with a willingness to take risks and develop new initiatives. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Must have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Strong understanding of ABCD's diverse customer base and knowledge of Boston neighborhoods required. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Services Management or City and Regional Planning required. Must have at least five to ten years supervisory experience, with demonstrated ability to inspire, educate and lead staff. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

SOCIAL SERVICE / MENTAL HEALTH SUPERVISOR 
Jamaica Plain Head Start

Responsible for the management of social services at the Head Start center. Ensure that the social service and mental health components are in compliance with regulations and policies of ACF, EEC, and ABCD Head Start. Provide supervision, technical assistance and training to and evaluation of component staff. Collaborate with component staff to provide individualized services to all Head Start children and their families, as well as maintain a comprehensive record keeping system. Chair local interdisciplinary Team I meetings for one-half of each school year and maintain accurate records and case management reports related to the meetings. Identify and collaborate with local community agencies to develop a network for advocacy referrals and services. Perform other related duties as required.

Proven ability to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate individual social service plans required. Must be able to recognize and assess mental health concerns. Must have experience in supervising staff and working as part of an interdisciplinary team. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Human Services, Early Childhood Education or a related field, with at least three years of experience working with children and families in a human services or related setting required. Previous experience working with children from low-income families of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds preferred. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual skills desired. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (FULL-TIME)

The main functions of the Administrative Assistant is to maintain and coordinate calendars, receive and process phone calls and other communications (i.e. emails), coordinate and manage projects as assigned, file and organize records, and general administrative functions. Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills, computer skills and competency with Microsoft Office Applications and/or appropriate desktop applications.

 

AQUATIC COORDINATOR (PART-TIME)

The main functions of the Aquatic Coordinator is to ensure the safety of all patron, assist the Aquatic Manager in opening or closing the facility, supervise the lifeguard staff while on duty, and maintain the safety of the aquatic facility acting as a role model for the lifeguard staff and guests. Qualifications: Must have the American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Must be Water Safety Instructor Certified. Four years of lifeguard experience and swim instructor experience a must. Excellent communications skills as well as computer skills. Must be available to work flexible schedule (including nights, weekend, holidays and split shifts) depending upon the needs of the department. Four years of work experience as a lifeguard with management and administrative duties a plus.

 

HEAD LIFEGUARD (PART-TIME)

The main functions of the Head Lifeguard is to ensure the safety of all patrons, supervise the lifeguard staff while on duty, open and close the facility as required and maintain the safety of the aquatic facility and serve as a role model for the lifeguard staff and guests. Qualifications: Must have the American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Two - four years of work experience as a lifeguard with management and administrative duties a plus. Excellent computer and communications skills a must.

 

LIFEGUARD (PART-TIME)

The main functions of the Lifeguard are to ensure patron safety at all times and to maintain the safety of the aquatic facility. Qualifications: Must have the American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Experience as a certified lifeguard preferred. Excellent communications skills.

 

FOOD & SERVICE ATTENDANT (PART-TIME)

The main function of the Food & Service staff is to work as a cashier in the Cafe and Performing Arts Theatre concessions. Other responsibilities include by not limited to event prep, set-up and sales, food preparation, cooking, catering and banquet services, birthday party preparation, clean-up, custodial and dishwashing duties. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Prior experience (6 months - 1 year) in Food service industry a must. Excellent customer service skills and willing to work flexible hours (including weekends)

 

MEMBERSHIP SERVICE LEAD (PART-TIME)

The Membership Service Lead responsibilities include selling and/or verifying memberships through POS system, providing information and answering questions about available programs. This position assumes a leadership role for the Welcome Desk and takes on certain responsibilities in the absence of the Membership & Marketing Coordinator. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience in Customer Services and Sales. Previous cashier and/or customer service experience a plus. Must be able to work independently. Excellent computer and communication skills a must.

 

MEMBERSHIP SERVICES & SALES STAFF (SEASONAL)

Candidate will be responsible for helping community residents through the process of becoming members of the new community center for RJKCC. Will also outreach to local residents and inform them on RJKCC membership and program opportunities through marketing activities and promotions. Must be able to communicate effectively the details of the Kroc Center as laid out in the Membership Packets. Qualifications: Must have experience in a field related to sales and/or customer service. Computer skills familiar with Word, Excel, Publisher and/or appropriate desktop applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to multi task.

 

WELCOME DESK ASSOCIATES (FULL-TIME)

The Welcome Desk Associate's responsibilities include serving as the receptionist, data entry, serving as the receptionist selling and/or verifying memberships through POS system, providing information and answering questions about available programs. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Previous cashier and/or customer service experience a plus. Excellent computer and communications skills also a plus. Proficient typing skills a must.

FACILITIES TEAM MEMBER (FULL AND PART-TIME)

Facilities Team Members are responsible for the cleaning, sanitation and general upkeep of the buildings and grounds, as well as set-ups and take-downs of rooms to support various programs and building uses. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have at least one year of janitorial experience in a large multi-use facility as well as knowledge of health and sanitation requirements of a public facility. Must be able to life 50 lbs. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions/procedure manuals. Must have a valid license for driving.

 

SECURITY GUARD (PART-TIME)

The Security Guard is responsible for providing and maintaining safe and secure environment for all of RJKCCC staff, members and guests. Responsibilities also include providing maintenance support. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. At least one year of experience in the security/law enforcement field preferred. Must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills and ability to multi task. Experience in utilizing security equipment (Cameras, metal detectors, etc) a plus.

 

PERFORMING ARTS COORDINATOR (PART-TIME)

The Performing Arts Coordinator provides oversight to the development and day-to-day operations of the performing arts center, the art room, the audio/video editing studio and the music instruction room. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a field related to the visual and/or performing arts preferred. Must have three to five years of progressive leadership experience in the visual and/or performing arts and at least three years experience in developing, planning, managing and supervising arts programs. Excellent computer skills a must.

 

EDUCATION COORDINATOR (FULL-TIME)

The Education Coordinator provides oversight to the development and day-to-day operations of the education center, the tutoring, mentoring and after school educational programs and the library and classroom facilities. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a field related to education. Masters degree preferred. Must have three to five years of progressive leadership experience in education. Classroom teaching and/or educational administration experience is preferred. At least three years experience in developing, planning, managing and supervising education programs. Must have at least three years experience developing and administering budgets for education programs.

 

KIDS F.E.A.S.T. ASSOCIATE (PART-TIME)

The Kids FEAST Associates are responsible for assisting and participating in the day-to-day operations of the Kids F.E.A.S.T (Food, Enrichment, Arts, Spiritual Development, Teaching) Afterschool program. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have excellent communications skills. Able to work week nights.

 

FOOD SERVICE COORDINATOR (FULL-TIME)

The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for the long-term and day-to-day Food Service operations at the RJKCCC. Responsibilities include performing and overseeing all concessions functions including providing meals for programs (e.g. Kids FEAST, CARES Seniors Program, Summer Day Camp, Café), catering and special event planning and execution. Also includes menu planning, pricing and inventory control. Will directly supervise all Food & Beverage and Serving staff as well as plan and implement budgets; hire, train and supervise all kitchen staff. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a field related to culinary arts or hospitality preferred. Must have three to five years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality management. Excellent computer and communication skills.

 

RECREATION & FITNESS COORDINATOR (FULL-TIME)

The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (RJKCCC) is looking for full time Recreation & Fitness Coordinator. The Recreation & Fitness Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Recreation & Fitness department. Responsibilities also include providing staff supervision, selling and maintaining membership, schedules, and coordination of events. The Recreation and Fitness areas include a state of the art Fitness Center, Gymnasium, Athletic Field, Outdoor Hard Court, Group Exercise Room, Challenge Course, and Climbing Wall. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a field related to leisure studies, parks and recreation or physical education. Must have three to five years of progressive leadership experience in athletics, recreation and/or fitness field. At least three years experience in developing, planning, managing and supervising athletic programs, fitness center operations, sport teams, leisure time recreation activities and organized recreational programs a must. Excellent computer skills and the ability to work and relate well with people.

 

RECREATION ATTENDANT (PART-TIME)

Recreation Attendants work as attendants in the gymnasium, outdoor hard court, athletic field, and supply and track equipment for users as necessary. Responsible for keeping score and/or refereeing during recreational sports league games and ensuring the safe use of the facilities by assisting patrons with the equipment. Qualifications: Must have one to three years of progressive leadership experience in athletics, camp, recreation and/or fitness field. Gymnasium equipment knowledge a must. One or more years experience in a public exercise facility. Excellent communication and computer skills.

 

ROCK WALL & ROPES COURSE CLIMBING ATTENDANT (PART-TIME)

The Rock Wall and Ropes Course Attendants are responsible for overseeing members and guests as they participate in climbing programs. Primarily responsible for ensuring the equipment safety, user safety, cleanliness, and exemplary customer service of these areas. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have excellent communications skills. Able to work week nights.

 

FITNESS ATTENDANT (PART-TIME)

Fitness Attendants are responsible for ensuring the safe use of the facilities by assisting patrons as needed in the Fitness department. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have exercise equipment knowledge. One or more years experience in a public exercise facility. Must have excellent communications skills.

 

KIDSPACE ATTENDANT (PART-TIME)

Kidspace Attendants provide short-term supervision to the children of members and program participants. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience in pre-school or childcare facility preferred. Must have excellent communications skills.

 

TEEN CENTER ATTENDANT (PART-TIME)

The Teen Center Attendant provides supervision to the members and program participants in the teen center, including but not limited to: ensuring safety, mentoring, homework assistance and participation in the life skills curriculum. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience in working with youth preferred. Must have excellent communications skills.

 

SOCIAL SERVICES RECEPTIONIST (PART-TIME)

The Social Services Receptionist is responsible for providing support to the Social Service Department. Responsibilities includes: call center support by answering and transferring phone calls, taking messages for staff, pantry assistance, and assisting clients and guests, and other general support duties. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. At least one year of experience in a clerical related field, including answering a multi-line phone system preferred. Must have excellent communications skills. Bi-lingual candidate preferred.

 

SOCIAL SERVICE CASEWORKER (FULL-TIME)

The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (RJKCCC) is looking for a full time Social Service Caseworker. Social Service Caseworker provides social services to clients seeking assistance. Responsible for interviewing, coordinating and planning programs and activities to meet the various needs of clients by the utilization of local and state resources. Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Social Work (BSW) or Masters in Social Work (MSW) preferred. Must have excellent communications skills.
